Chelangat bettered her season best that he had set in heat two in Tokyo
Kenyan Paralympian Nancy Chelangat won Kenya's first medal at the ongoing Tokyo Paralympics Games after finishing third in the 1500M-T11 to clinch bronze.
Chelangat was guided by her elder brother Geoffrey Kiplagat, a former guide for Paralympian Eric Sang.
The 2016 Rio Silva medalist managed to run a season best, clocking 4:45.58 as Mexico's Monica Olivia took home the gold after a world class display, smashing the world record and setting a new one at 4:37.40. South Africa's Louzanne Coetzee finished second on 4:40.96.

Chelangat qualified for the final after hitting yet another season best of 4:51.68 in heat two where she finished fourth but sailed through after posting one of the fastest times.
Her compatriot Mary Waithira had failed to qualify for the final despite finishing third in heat one after clocking 4:52.54.
