The famous athlete also revealed that his daughter will likely follow his footsteps

How is the life of Usain Bolt these days? The world 100m record holder is retired for six years now, but his life as a pensioner is anything but calm. He is a family man, he looks after his children, but he also does commercials, checks speed results in athletics, invests a large amount of money (12 million euros) into banks and full-heartedly supports Manchester United and coach Erik ten Hag.

In 2009 he set the world records in 100m (9.58) and 200m (19.19), and still thinks that they won’t be broken for some time, but when asked in an interview for L’Equipe what it would be like if he would run 100m now, the answer was:

"Wow! That would be horrible. I would be in agony in the last 30 or 40 meters”.

Bolt admits he misses the big competitions and the track, but only because of the crowd and the adrenaline and thinks that the new era of athletics cannot be compared to the older one, mainly due to the new technologies.

"I only miss the emotion of the crowd, really. The adrenaline of the big competitions. Although a lot has changed in athletics in recent years, I still think my records will stand for a while yet. For sure with the new technology, it's not the same anymore. We see that all the runners have broken their records recently. You see this especially with the older athletes and now they are improving" he explained.

As a devoted father, he is with his children every day, and one of them is on her way to becoming an athlete, just like her father.

"I can already tell you that my daughter will be a sprinter, or at least an athlete, because she never walks. She runs all the time, so that keeps me alert, you know" he said between smiles in an interview with L'Equipe.

The American press agency Associated Press revealed at the beginning of the year that the famous sprinter has lost 12 million dollars in investment in Jamaica and that Kingston-based Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL) is under investigation. Usain Bolt is one of many victims (about 40 people suffered) of this fraud, and unlike the former superstar, who claims that he is not broken, as he invested in other things as well, there are some elderly people who are now without any money. Nigel Clarke, Jamaica's finance minister, said he would ask the FBI and other foreign agencies to help with the investigations and Bolt explained what happened.

"What happened was that we invested in a bank, a financial organization. An investment that started in 2012. And this organization regularly informed us that everything was fine, that it had invested in this and that, that it was getting bigger. But in the end, my money was stolen. Boom, suddenly, they announce that everything has disappeared. But, we were smart enough to diversify our investments" he revealed.
