The women's course record set by Kenya's Judith Jeptum Korir (2:19:48) in 2022 and the men's mark belonging to compatriot Elisha Rotich (2:04:21) from 2021 remained unchallenged
Mainova Frankfurt Marathon 2024 champion Benard Biwott won his second marathon on Sunday, 13 April, picking a comfortable victory in 2:05:25, to improve his personal best (PB) by 29 seconds in what was a solo finish.

Djiboutian Ibrahim Hassan, who gave up the chase after the 35km mark, finished 30 seconds behind the 22-year-old winner in a National Record (NR)but ahead of another Kenyan, Sila Kiptoo, who clocked a Personal Best (PB) of 2:06:21.
In the women's race, Ethiopian Bedatu Hirpa won 2:20:48, finishing ahead of compatriot Dera Dida in a sprint finish.
Kenya’s Angela Tanui crossed the finish line in 2:21:07, completing the podium.
“Today was a good day. I didn't think it would go so well. When I thought about pushing, I did it, and my body reacted well. It was tough, but I went all the way," the winner said.
In the women's race, Hirpa, who made her debut in the classic distance in January 2025, winning the Dubai Marathon in 2:18:27, had to dig deep to deny Dida by a mere three seconds.
The battle for supremacy for the better part of the race was a four-way competition with Tanui and Tanzanian Magdalena Shauri also in contention.
The group broke down in the final kilometer, and the women's marathon came down to a sprint. Tanui ultimately finished third, 21 seconds behind the leading duo.
