The duo of Kimeli and Krop sealed a place in the World Championships.
Kenyan Olympian Nicholas Kimeli braved the chilling weather conditions at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani to clinch first place at a time of 13:01 with Jacob Krop chasing hot on his heels in the 5000m men trails.
The trails doubled up as the World Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games set for later this year with the top two athletes sealing a ticket to Oregon and Birmingham where the two events are slated to take place.
Kimeli led for a majority of the 12 and half lap race and had the needed energy left in his tank to fend off a strong finish from Krop who despite his best efforts could not pip Kimeli to the finish line.
