Shujaa will play Japan in the placement matches after dropping out of the Main Cup.
After suffering back to back defeats against the USA and South Africa, Shujaa finally picked up their maiden win of the Singapore 7s after beating Canada 24-7 to seal a third place finish in Pool A.
Shujaa who were poor from restarts let their frailties slip into the game again when Lachlan Kratz gathered and acrobatically sneaked in a try on the left channel that went upstairs but was given the green light as Canada converted the try for a 7-0 lead.

Kenya however responded in spectacular fashion when Levi Amunga off loaded the ball to Herman Humwa who bagged a try despite the Canadian defense trying to stop him as his outstretched arm was enough to get the ball over the white wash.
Shujaa went into the half time break leading when Kevin Wekesa showed a clean pair of heels on the right channel to touch down to touch down but they could have extended their lead but Herman Humwa dropped the ball inside the try box.
Shujaa resumed the second half with menacing beast with their physicality costing them a man as Herman Humwa was sent to the sin bin for a high tackle.
