Shujaa make light work of Chile to storm HSBC 7s playoff quarterfinals

Kenya 7s started the month of June on a high note after schooling Chile 36-7 in their final pool match played on Saturday 1 June.
Their performance in the tournament's opening matches was inconsistent, with a victory over Samoa but a loss to Spain.
They were determined to end on a high note, they started their next match with impressive vigor.

John Okoth was the standout player, showcasing his electric speed early in the match when he broke through the defense to score in the left corner. His try gave Kenya a 5-0 lead after the missed conversion.
The Nakuru-based player continued his momentum, again outpacing his markers to score in the same spot. Despite immense pressure and a review by the TMO, the try was awarded.
Chile responded with a converted try from Cristobal Game, narrowing the score gap.
In the closing minutes of the first half, Kenya's excellent teamwork was evident.
Okoth's strong carry led to a well-timed offload from Tony Omondi to Chrissant Ojwang, who powered over the line under the posts for a converted try, extending Kenya's lead.
Despite Patrick Odongo limping off, the Kenyan team remained undeterred.
Talented scrum half Samuel Asati executed a cheeky run off the scrum to score the fourth try under the posts.
Vincent Onyala easily picked up the fifth try, landing a center post try.
George Ooro capped off the performance with another center post try after a clever show-and-go, sealing an impressive finish for Kenya.
