Shujaa land Pool of Death in Cape Town 7s

For the second successive leg of the HSBC World Sevens Series, Shujaa have landed the Pool of Death ahead of the Cape Town 7s that is slated from Friday 9 to 11 December.

The national men’s 7s side will come up against second runners up in Dubai 7s New Zealand, a tough Argentina side and Spain who are the less tricky opponents of the Pool.

Following a challenging past week filled with off field issues after two of the Shujaa players went public about a public funding due to months of salary, the team posted improved performances in Dubai.

This is after the Sports CS Ababu Namwamba came to the aid of the players by settling their allowances which went a long way in motivating the players as they finished 11th in the recently concluded Dubai leg.

The team will be expected to raise their game further in South Africa as they chase their maiden Pool win of the season after a challenging start to the campaign.
