Shujaa will be looking to win their last Pool D encounter against France.

The Kenya national men’s side, Shujaa suffered their second consecutive loss of the Malaga 7’s after falling 14-19 to Wales.

Shujaa were coming off a disappointing 19-17 loss to Canada in their opening encounter of the Malaga 7s that exposed their rustiness with the last competitive game coming back in early December.

After a stop-start opening minutes of the encounter, Kenya finally found their groove and put points on the board when Levy Amunga offloaded the ball to Vincent Onyala to score his 37th career try in the series with Amunga converting the try for a 7-0 point lead.

Innocent Simiyu’s charges major undoing in the game were basic handling errors that cost them possession from vantage points with Wales levelling the scores right in the depth of the first half through Morgan Williams.

Wales continued from where they left from in the first half as they pulled ahead in the second minute of the closing half with Williams sealing his brace after Nelson Oyoo and Johnstone Olindi collided in a mix up while defending to open up a gap for Williams to slot the try.

Shujaa again displayed owed their reliance as Jeff Oluoch showed sheer power and a clean pair of heels to slice through the Wales defense and dotting down the ball behind the post for a simple conversion by Amunga.

Wales got the last laugh in the roller coaster clash as Tom Brown scored his first ever try in the series on his debut after Alvin Otieno greased a tackle with Shujaa again being the masters of their own undoing through handling errors.

Shujaa will face France on Saturday 22 January in a 1:49 PM kick off.
