Kenya Lionesses 23-lady squad to face Madagascar announced

The Kenya Lionesses 15s squad has been announced ahead of their test match against Madagascar, set for Friday, September 20, 2024, at RFUEA Grounds.

Leading the team will be captain Natasha Emali, who anchors the front row alongside Naomi Muhanji and Rose Atieno.

In the second row, Naomi Jelegat partners with Maureen Chebet, while the back row comprises Diana Kemunto, Enid Ouma, and Sheila Chajira, who recently impressed with Impala’s victory at Prinsloo 7s.

The halfback duo features Edith Nariaka at scrum-half and Grace Okulu at fly-half.

The back three includes Terry Ayesa, Freshia Awino, and Sinaida Mokaya, with Stella Wafula and Maureen Muritu forming the midfield.

The bench is made up of Mitchell Akinyi, Sheila Wesa, Diana Mideva, Noleen Khaleyi, Hellen Achieng, Judith Auma, Faith Livoi, and Ann Njeri.

This match will affect the Kenya Lionesses' World Rugby ranking, following their challenging performance in the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup.

Meanwhile, Madagascar is set to compete in the 2024 WXV 3 tournament in the UAE from September 27 to October 13, alongside Fiji, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Samoa, and Spain.
