349 days later, rugby fans get the chance to enjoy the game they love albeit in different circumstances.

Kabras Sugar and Kenya Harlequins face off at Nyayo National Stadium in the season’s first match, dubbed ‘Sisimka Charity Cup’ which will act as the curtain raiser to the main 2021 season that kicks off next Saturday 27th February with four matches lined up.

The ‘Sisimka Charity Cup’ was ideally meant to feature Kenya Cup winners KCB vs Enterprise Cup winners Kabras but KCB withdrew as they were not ready for the tournament. Quins were then selected to replace the cup champions in the tie by Kenya Rugby Union (KRU).

KCB's withdrawal took away some shine from a fixture that has always generated national debate. Competition between KCB and Kabras has been so intense making any meeting between the two a must watch.

Against Quins, Kabras will have it easy as their opponents have been on a steep decline for the past four seasons. The team showed some fight in the previous calendar but is still some distance behind Kabras.

Quins will have experienced quartet of Wilson K'Opondo, Patrice Agunda, Joshua Chisanga and Dennis Muhanji hoping to inspire the rest of the squad while Kabras have trust power pack Dan Sikuta alongside Brian Tanga, George Nyambua, Asuman Mugerwa and Hilary Odhiambo in he starting team.
