Daniel Sikuta calls time at Kabras RFC

Sikuta's contract at Sabras has expired

Kabras RFC prop Daniel Lupao Sikuta will be leaving the Millers on Bosman rule following the expiry of his contract. Sikuta's contract with the Sugarmen was set to expire at the end of this month (today).

Breaking the news on his social media handles, the former Kenya 15s International, announced that he had a deliberation meeting with the club's top leadership and they mutually agreed not to extend his stay.

Sikuta captained Kabras RFC during the 2021/22 season, leading them to win two Kenya Cup titles, back to back Enterprise Cup titles and one National 7s Circuit title. The legendary forward will be remembered for his hard hitting tackles, and ball carrying abilities.

"Leaving Kabras RFC has been a tough decision. The club has been home to me for many years. We had a meeting with club management and agreed that I will leave the club when my contract expires. I'm very proud of the titles we won here (2 Kenya Cup,2 Enterprise,1 Seven's circuit cup). All these we have earned through determination, believe, discipline and hard work from all the club stakeholders. To the coaches that who helped develop my rugby career, salute to you," Skubez, as he is famously known wrote.

He further extended gratitude to his now former teammates, wishing them the best even in his absentia.

"To my former teammates I'm grateful for good environment we created and achieved a lot together. And also allowing me to lead you guys as Captain. I wish you guys all the very best in your upcoming assignments," he averred.

Sikuta played for Mwamba RFC between 2010 and 2016 before joining Kabras RFC in August 2016. He has been the captain for Kabras RFC that he l

He also won Safari Seven's Cup in 2018 and the overall Local Seven's circuit Champion in 2017.At the international level, Skubez has played 159 matches and scored 35 tries and 175 points in the HSBC World 7s series. He has captained the Kenya 15s national team and has 34 caps.
