S. OchiengBarthes Trophy 2022: All participating teams to jet in the country on Thursday

The tournament will kick off on Saturday 9 April
With the 2022 U20 Barthes Trophy set to get underway this weekend on Saturday 9 April, all of the seven national teams apart from hosts Kenya who will be taking part in the 8 team tourney are set to arrive in the country on Thursday ahead of the tournaments’ kickoff.
According to the schedule released, Ivory Coast will open the arrivals list as they land in the country at around 0120EAT on Thursday morning. They will then be followed by Tunisia, Uganda, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Madagascar and Zambia who arrive last at around 2200EAT.
All teams participating in the 2022 U20 Barthes Trophy getting underway this Saturday will arrive in the country tomorrow.

With eight teams set to grace the tournament this year following a low turnout in the previous two editions due to Covid-19 challenges, the tournament is set to be played on a knockout basis on three match days with four quarterfinal matches kicking off the tournament on Saturday.
In fixtures released by Kenya Rugby Union (KRU), there will be four quarterfinal fixtures on Saturday 9 April 2022 with the semifinals set for Wednesday 13 April at the same venue before the title decider that will be played on Sunday 17 April as curtains fall on the tourney.
In the first quarterfinal kicking off at 0900EAT, former champions and 2019 finalists Namibia will set the ball rolling when they face Cote d’Ivoire before paving the way for the second clash between Tunisia and Zimbabwe that is set for an 1130EAT tentative start.
The Junior Makis from Madagascar, who narrowly lost the tournament in 2021 by one point to Kenya, will then commence their bid against Zambia before Chipu take to the field in the last action of the day where they will face neighbours Uganda.
