The two sides gained promotion to the top tier league upon qualifying for the final.

Zetech Titans will match to the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's premier league with a title to their name, division one champions.

The Job Munene-led side saw off challengers Africa Nazarene University Wolfpacks 3-1 in the best-of-five final series played at Nyayo Indoor Arena, a deserved crowning for a turbulent season that saw on ly five team play in the lower division league.

In the decider matches played on Saturday at the venue, Titans brought out the best in themselves to overpower Mike Oluoch's Wolfpacks 86-72 and avoid a decider Game Five.

"We are happy for this win. However, it is not the scores we are looking at but what our game plan in the final was and how we executed. We were complacent in Game Three and we lost so in match four I had to reward the hard workers.

We have picked valuable lessons here going into the premier league where we expect stiff competition. One thing I have noticed is those coming off the bench do not maintain the same tempo and that is something we have to work on ahead of the new season.

We will beef up the squad since this is a young squad, none has played on the that level and it calls for some experience," said coach Munene.

Meanwhile, Oluoch blamed the loss on failure to follow instructions arguing that his charges were content with gaining promotion to the top tier league and have not played to their strengths since winning the semis against KDF Morans to book their premier ticket.

"The players stopped following instructions. We locked, were not playing as a team. On offense we were not sharing the ball and there were alot of turnovers. On defense there was little help. We cut their advantage to about eight points but allowed them to come back and stretch the lead for the win," said Oluoch.

For a team known for its passing, screening, aggressive defense, they were a pale shadow of themselves in the final.

"The players have worked throughout the season and their target was promotion. Having achieved that, the title was just a bonus and I feel they relaxed hence the loss. We have to pick ourselves up now and turn our focus on preparation for the new season," added Oluoch.
