The Polish and the Tunisian in the fight for the Grand Slam title
At Wimbledon, Ons Jabeur managed to make a breakthrough in her career and reach the Grand Slam final, but the Tunisian came within reach of the prestigious title in London. With her brilliant performances at the US Open, the currently fifth tennis player in the world fought for a rematch in the form of a new Grand Slam final, and her opponent will be the current best tennis player in the world, Iga Swiatek.
The Pole reached the final by defeating Aryna Sabalenka after a comeback 3:6, 6:1, 6:4 and thus found herself in a situation to win her third Grand Slam title after two successes at Roland Garros (2020 and 2022).
On the other hand, Jabeur took the last step on the way to the final by eliminating the French teenager Caroline Garcia, leaving her only four games (6:1, 6:3).
The tennis players from Tunisia and Poland thus scheduled their fifth mutual clash, which is scheduled for Sunday night. The first meeting between the following rivals went to Swiatek in Washington, followed by two victories for Jabeur (at Wimbledon and in Cincinnati), while the last match at the tournament in Rome played in May belonged to the world's number one tennis player.
