Golden State star and Under Armor in lifetime-contract talks

The Golden State star is in talks to sign a lifetime contract with Under Armour, Rolling Stone reports. The new signing could bring the four-time NBA champion over a billion dollars!

Curry's current contract with the multinational company from Baltimore expires in 2024, and if the cooperation continues, one of the best players today could get his own brand, similar to Michael Jordan, who for over more than three and a half decades has Air Jordan within the Nike company.

Interestingly, at the beginning of his career, Curry worked with a company from Oregon, but in 2013 he moved to Under Armour, for the sum of 4 million dollars a year. In 2015, the two sides signed an extension of cooperation until 2024, according to which the Warriors guard gets $215,000,000, of which about $20,000,000 per year is in cash and the rest in company shares.

If the aforementioned comes true, Curry will still not be the first basketball player after Jordan to get his brand within a sports conglomerate.

There were, in fact, earlier attempts. But, so far, no one has managed to get close to 'Jumpman', which is the nickname of the Air Jordan brand logo, named after the legend of the Chicago Bulls and the NBA League.

Speaking of money, up until the end of last season - counting only the 82-game regular season, excluding team bonuses and postseason performance awards from the NBA - Curry has grossed $254,736,348 from his contract with Golden State. Until the summer of 2026, when his current contract expires on the same basis, he will collect another 215,353,662, which is a total of 470,090,010 dollars, excluding all fees and taxes.
