Coach David Lugh'aho needed 53 minutes only to beat the Burundians in straight sets

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league champions Kenya Prisons saw of Burundi's Muzinga 3-0 to get their title campaign at the ongoing Confederation of African Volleyball women's club championship off to a flying start in Tunisia.

David Lughaho's charges made their intent known from the first whistle as they collected quick points to head to the first technical timeout leading 8-2 with only four and a half minutes played.

Prisons extended the lead to 14-3 forcing the Burundians to call for a time-out which did little to change their fate as the wardresses continued their onslaught, clinching the set in a 25-8 scoreline which set the pace for the entire match.

The next two sets were easy for the Kenyans, having already established that they were not going to be challenged in this particular match as they posted identical scores of 25-8 to easily pick a win.

"We were up against a young team and it was not a tough match. The most important thing was to see how much we can avoid making mistakes before meeting the tougher opponents and I am impressed with the performance,"

I had a chance to field all the players and, while the opponent offered little challenge to help me gauge the level all the players are operating at, I know the mistakes we need to work on. We shift our focus to correcting the few mistakes we made on our rest day on Thursday, 22 April before meeting our next opponent on Friday, 23 April," said the tactician.
