Action continues on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium.
It has been a weekend of mixed results for former Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) men's league champions Prisons Kenya.
In their second match of the season against holders General Service Unit (GSU) the David Lung'aho-led side fell by straight sets but made amends in Saturday's match against Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
Keen not to lose a second match this weekend, Lung'aho's charges fought from a (22-25) set down to pick their second victory of the season in a 3-1 (22-25, 25 -18, 25 -15, 25 -16) outcome.
"After Friday's loss, this was a must-win match and that's why we did not give up when we had a slow start.
Playing outdoors also helped us as the team did not get the chance to train indoors ahead of this second leg.
It still is early days but the team has some adjustments to make after this weekend's matches.
We have new players in our ranks and it will take a bit of time before they can gel with the rest of the squad," offered Lung'aho after the match.
We are at the Nyayo Stadium 🏟 for day 2 of the 2nd leg of the national men's #Volleyball league.

The tactician has relied heavily on the good reception of Jairus Kipkosgei who has yet to be out of the woods after suffering injury during last season's playoffs.
"Jairus is a good receiver and we needed his prowess this weekend so we played him as a libero. He is back to training but had been advised to take it easy on the jumps thus the reason to use him as a libero," the tactician explained.
In other matches, General Service Unit (GSU) picked their second victory of the season, easily dispensing a struggling Trailblazers 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-21).
Head coach Gideon Tarus maintains that it still is too early to celebrate and instead the team is focusing on one match at a time with eyes on the ultimate prize; qualifying for the playoffs and defending their title.
Meanwhile Equity Bank picked yet another straight-sets win against Vihiga County who missed the opening day action.
