Nairobi Basketball Association (NBA) league enters the quarters stage this weekend with eight teams doing battle in the men's and women's categories.
Winners of the playoffs gain automatic qualification to the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's division two and women's division one leagues.
The ladies competition will see Evelyn Kedogo-coached Dream Girls who finished third in the regular season face off with the experienced Gladiators.
Last season, Kedogo's charges won the title but elected not to play in the KBF league citing .ajotly lack of funds and the slow start to the season as the tactician maintains that the ultimate goal is to grow talent and to do that the players have to be in action constantly.
"The women's team is nit where last year's squad was. We have six players who are unavailable for the playoffs but we will push to the limit and see what happens," offered Kedogo.
Regular league leaders Stanbic Bank who lost only two matches in 20 for 38 points face Daystar Falcons in the best-of-three quarters as they look to maintain their impressive run and go all the way to gaining promotion.
Second-placed Safe Spaces will bank on Sarah Aporo, Flo Mbithe, Kate Onyango and player cum coach Peninah Nthenya when they take on Raila Education Center (REC) who finished seventh at 29 points, having won nine of their 20 matches.
Kenya Secondary School Sport Association (KSSSA) national girls' basketball silver medalist Olympic Tigress who placed fourth on the regular league log have their work cut out in their quest for a last-four chance as they play Titans, fifth on the chart in a mid-table clash.
Leading the charge for Moses Musebe's vastly improved Titans is the rising Elsie Njonjo who gets a helping hands from Winnie Musebe and Elizabeth Makokha among others.
In the men's league, Eastern Conference champions Moischers will take on Multi Media University (MMU).
Otek, coming off the Eastern Conference play Western conference's second-place finishers Allstars in a game that has a clear line drawn between youth and experience.
Kedogo-coached Africa Dream play Dagoretti High School while Kivuli face off with Western champions Clique Mambas.
Game one and two are scheduled for 29 and 30 October with Game Three set for 5 November where necessary.
The Semi finals are set to be played in the best-of-five format game series will tip off on 6 November. The finals will also follow a similar format and bet played between 26 November and 5 December.
