Malkia Striker's outside hitter Veronica Adhiambo has reaped the fruits of her steller show in the FIVB World Championships as she has penned a year-long deal with Turkish Sigorta Shop 1st League Club side Tarsus Belediyespor.

Adhiambo who was making her debut at the global stage gave a good account of herself as she was among the best performers for the national team that failed to advance past the group stage.

The 23-year old who locally featured for Kenya Pipeline was the second-best scorer for Malkia in the championships as he recorded fifty points in six matches.

Sharon Chapechumba who has since moved to Greece was the overall best scorer for the Kenyan team as she registered 66 points.

The hard-hitting Chepchumba linked up with Aris Thessaloniki shortly after Malkia were tossed out of the competition after finishing fifth in pool A.

Adhiambo who inspired Pipeline to a third-place finish in the Africa Club championships held in June in Tunisia said sealing the move was a dream come true. Prior to joining the oilers, she featured for the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) team.

I feel good to be making my first move abroad. This is a dream come true because I’ve always wanted to play professional volleyball. Finally, my hard work and sacrifice have paid off. I know the Turkish league is one of the best in the world but I am ready to do my best,” she told the Daily Nation.
