The bankers are looking to reclaim top spot after Ulinzi went ahead after Saturday's win.
Nairobi City Thunder skipper Griffin Ligare has called on his charges to correct on their mistakes ahead of their clash with Equity Dumas in the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's league on Sunday 12 February.
Thunder have a busy weekend, having played former champions Ulinzi Warriors on Saturday 11 February at Ulinzi Complex, going down 64-56, their seventh loss of the season.
As they face off with Dumas at United States International University (USIU) grounds, the bankers are hoping to reclaim top spot and the Sadat Gaya-coached Thunder have a match on their hands.
"We got into foul trouble against Ulinzi and one of our point guards fouled out. Ulinzi being the physical team that they are, it made it harder on us having fewer people that can handle the ball.
Ultimately we are fighting to finish with a higher seeding for a favourable draw in the playoffs so we have to recollect ourselves and fight in the remaining matches," offered Ligare after Ulinzi's match.
Thunder are up against a Dumas side that has only lost twice this season one of the loses coming against Gaya's charges in the first leg. The bankers are on a revenge mission
"We have picked on some mistakes from the Ulinzi match and that will give us guidance as we face another tough team in Dumas on Sunday. We have to get our rebounding right.
We know we will qualify for the playoffs but now the question is how and that calls for a strategy on how to pick more points going forward," Ligare added.
In other matches, Zetech Titans who went down 67-59 to Strathmore Blades on Saturday play Eldonets Platinum as they chase a third victory of the season.
The visiting Eldonets are also looking to get back to winning ways, having gone down 53-42 to Umoja on Saturday.
