KSSSA: Preliminary battles conclude as teams set sights on semi final glory at National Term One Games

The girls’ handball category saw Moi Girls Kamusinga dispatch Hon. DM Amin 78-2 in a lopsided contest

Day Three of action at the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Term One Games marked the end of the group stage across all disciplines, with high-intensity encounters determining semi-final slots.

In girls’ basketball, Ikutha recorded the tournament’s highest score so far with a 128-6 win against Hon. DM Amin.

Kaya Tiwi maintained their unbeaten run, overpowering Olympic 86-50.

St. Joseph’s Kitale secured a hard-fought 77-54 win over Mpesa Academy, while Butere breezed past Asumbi 63-36.

The semi-final fixtures for the girls will see Kaya Tiwi take on St. Joseph’s, while Butere face off with Olympic.

In basketball boys' basketball category, Lukenya dominated Wajir High 87-55, with Dr. Aggrey overcoming Pioneer 66-54.

Dagoretti High continued their strong showing by eliminating Friends School Kamusinga with an 87-71 win.

Laiser Hill edged Sawagongo 71-66 in a tense affair.

The boys' basketball semi-finals will feature Dagoretti against Laiser Hill, and Lukenya taking on Dr. Aggrey.

The girls’ handball category saw Moi Girls Kamusinga dispatch Hon. DM Amin 78-2 in a lopsided contest.

Dagoretti Mixed upset Kyeni Girls 33-21, while Kadika beat Thika Girls 31-21 to secure their spot. St. Joseph’s Kitale maintained their perfect record by beating Moi Forces Academy 35-22.

In the semi-finals, Moi Kamusinga will battle Kadika, while St. Joseph’s Girls clash with Dagoretti Mixed.

In the boys’ competition, Kamito booked their semi-final place with a 27-22 win over Jaribuni.

Manyatta comfortably defeated Sabunley 48-14, while Highway edged Matiliku 20-17 in a close encounter. Kimilili outclassed Makuyu 36-17.

The semi-finals will pit Kamito against Manyatta, and Highway against Kimilili in what promises to be a day of tactical and physical showdowns.

The hockey fields saw their fair share of drama as St. Charles Lwanga stunned Pool A leaders St. Anthony’s Boys with a narrow 1-0 victory.

Musingu High edged M-Pesa Academy 2-1 to top their pool, while Hospital Hill and Ringa settled for a goalless draw.

Matiliku and Mnyezeni also ended 0-0 in a tightly contested fixture.

In the girls’ hockey category, Tigoi Girls remained dominant with a 4-0 win over M-Pesa Academy, while Ng'iya Girls eased past St. John’s Kaloleni 3-0. St. Joseph’s Kitale beat Mwiki 1-0 in a tight clash, and AIC edged St. Charles Lwanga 2-1.
