Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) head coach Antony Ojukwu maintains that the team's loss in the pre-season tournament away in Kigali to Rwanda Energy Group (REG) is ancient history adding that hey will win against the side when it matters.

The two sides lock horns on Wednesday 28 September at the Benjamin Mkapa Indoor Stadium in Dar Es Salaam,Tanzania in final group C match of the ongoing FIBA Africa Zone Five women's club championship.

The Kenyans comfortably won their opening match against Burundi's Young Sisters on Monday and are looking to top the group as action heads to the quarters.

"We had a rest day on Tuesday and while we would have preferred to be in action consecutively to keep the momentum going, the break gave us a chance to review our execution in the first match.

We had time to look at the things we did well and the area we had some laspses and make amends," offered coach Ojukwu.

REG managed to beat KPA from Kenya in two consecutive friendly games in May when the Kenyan side had gone to Kampala for a pre-season tournament. The two matches ended 55-44 and 46-38 in favour of the hosts.

"REG is a good team, that we must acknowledge. We will, however, try and work on our strengths and try to improve on our weakness as we anticipate a tough match. I know we lost in the pre-season tournament but we have a game plan to win here," added Ojukwu.

Meanwhile, 2018 Zone Five champions Equity Hawks are on a redemption path, having lost their opening match 51-49 against Alexandria Sporting in one of the closest contest of the championship.

David Maina's charges face off with South Sudan’s Nile Legends, a match, on paper, they can easily win to guarantee themselves a place in the knock-out stages.
