Heavy criticism as KVF officials appoint themselves in Malkia Strikers' technical bench

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) have appointed veteran tactician Japheth Munala to lead African champions Malkia Strikers at the Paris Olympics. 

In a communication send to media houses, the federation says a National Executive Committee had confirmed the appointment of Munala who would be deputised by federation Deputy President Paul Bitok. 

Former national team player turned coach Janet Wanja will be the team's trainer in a technical bench that has federation president Charles Nyaberi as the Team Manager (TM). 

Munala got back to the helm of the national team during the Zone Five African Games Qualifiers in Egypt and also led the side at the continental games where they failed to defend their title. 

The appointments, however, have been met with heavy criticism, especially after it emerged the current office holders had rejected FIVB's development programme renewal so as to benefit from the Games' appointments. 

Many have questioned how the duo of Nyaberi and Bitok will hold said positions and still ensure accountability at the national team level.
