Kimathi and Wahome will drive the Safaricom sponsored Ford Fiestas R3 while Anwar will be in a Mitsubishi Evolution.
Kenya’s FIA Rally Star programme drivers Hamza Anwar, McRae Kimathi, and Jeremy Wahome are all set to make their debut at Mombasa Rally that is scheduled for this Saturday.
The Mombasa Rally will be the sixth competition in the ongoing Kenya National Rally Championships (KNRC) series.
Currently, the Championship series is topped by Carl ‘Flash’ Tundo.
Wahome has finished fifth in the last two events and looks forward to building on a better finish from those, aiming for a podium finish in Mombasa.
“My expectation for this Rally is to improve on performance from my last two events which I both finished in the 5thposition, I can see a lot of potential in this race and I promise to push harder to finish the podium in a better position,” Wahome said.
Congratulations are in order to all the crews after a splendid outing in Machakos over the weekend. Carl Tundo emerged victorious ahead of Karan Patel & Evans Kavisi. Our young stars Jeremy Wahome and McRae Kimathi finished 5th and 9th respectively. pic.twitter.com/YiJQMukX0x

The three drivers have successfully taken part in this year’s Rally competitions including the WRC Safari Rally, ARC Rally of Tanzania, and recently Machakos Rally that took place three weeks ago.
In the Machakos Rally, 22-year-old Wahome finished fifth while 26-year-old McRae Kimathi finished in ninth, registering an improvement from the 13th position during the ARC Rally of Tanzania in July.
Hamza Anwar did not finish the two series and was forced to retire in both rallies after his car experienced mechanical problems.
This is the first time the trio are taking part in the Mombasa Rally.
Mombasa Motor Club will stage the next round of the 2021 KCB Kenya National Rally Championship on September 18 and 19.
