The league is back outdoors for this weekend's action, being played at the University of Nairobi (UoN) grounds.

Coach Carey Odhiambo is hoping to guide his charges Equity Dumas to their ninth victory in the Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) when the side faces off with Strathmore Blades in the highlight match of Saturday.

The league is back outdoors for this weekend's action, being played at the University of Nairobi (UoN) grounds as Nyayo Indoor Arena has been booked for a different sporting event.

Both sides have lost two matches but the bankers have played ten matches so far, while Blades have played seven, and will look to continue their winning streak.

The bankers are in third place, a point behind leaders Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) who have 19 points. Thunder are second also on 19 points. With the top two sides out of action this weekend, a win for Dumas takes them top of the table.

"We train hard for every match because all the teams in the competition are unpredictable and cannot be underrated. We expect to garner two points to end the first leg among the top teams," coach Odhiambo said.

Meanwhile, the varsity side, who have proven to be no pushovers over the seasons are chasing a sixth victory that would see them move from eighth to fifth on 14 points, awaiting Sunday matches.

On Sunday, Blades will tackle newbies Africa Nazarene University (ANU) Wolfpacks who are currently fifth on the log at 13 point from five wins in eight matches.

The other men's premier league match will see UoN Terror take on Umoja on Sunday, before the varsity Derby between Wolfpacks and Blades.

In the women's league, hosts for the weekend UoN Dynamites play Kisumu Lady Bucks and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Lynx on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Coach Juma Kent says the two matches are not as easy as they would look arguing that his charges are not match fit after two months of inaction, having last played on 8 August.

"We will give the matches our all. They look like easy games but we will take one at a time and hope for maximum points," offered Kent.

Other matches will sew ANU Panthers take on second-placed Storms on Saturday while Zetech Sparks are back in action against Kenyatta University Oryx on Sunday. Panthers play Lady Bucks on Sunday in their second match of the weekend.
