LeBron James forbade his son and new LA Lakers teammate Bronny to call him "Dad" in the workplace, but had several other proposals

In the upcoming season, the Los Angeles Lakers will have the first-ever father-son duo in the NBA league - LeBron and Bronny James. This will also be only the fourth pair of this kind in the history of all major American sports.

This interesting turn of events raised numerous questions, one of which was what the younger James would call his father on the court or in the locker room. Speaking in The Shop podcast, LeBron gave no concrete answer but underlined one thing: Bronny won't call him "Dad!"

"We already laid that down. He cannot call me 'Dad' in the workplace. He's gotta call me 2-3, or Bron, or GOAT if he wants to... Can't be running down the court like, 'Dad, I'm open! Dad, come on!' Once we leave out of the practice facility and the gates close, I can be 'Dad' again. In the car, if we ride together, at home, I could be 'Dad.' It's easy for me because I've been calling him 'Bronny' for so long. It's going to be the adjustment for him," said LeBron.

The Lakers selected Bronny James as the No. 55 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. He signed a four-year deal with the Californian franchise and will earn 7.9 million dollars. The new NBA season starts on October 23, and the Lakers face the Minnesota Timberwolves in LA after the season-opening game between the current champions, Boston Celtics and New York Knicks.
