The sleuths are the Cup holders after winning it last year.
Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league side Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are through to the Nyerere Cup semis.
The Daniel Bor-coached side, who are the Cup holders, played against Jeshi Stars, Chui, Star Girls and Young Spikers in the pool stage to emerge top, unbeaten and book Magereza in the last four.
"We had a relatively easy campaign in the group stage as the teams were not very competitive. We faced little resistance from the opponents and that led to some complacency on my players end.
We have, however, tried to use said matches to build on our skills and try to bond while trying out different combinations of players," Bor said.
The tactician was, however, quick to acknowledge that the semis will be a different ball game and they will have to make adjustments if they are to book a final berth.
"We are expecting a tough semis so the players will have to change their mindset in readiness. They played some easy matches but the task ahead requires maximum concentration. We also have areas that need improving, top of the list being our aggressiveness on attack," Bor added.
The tactician maintains that top of his agenda in Tanzania is to prepare his squad for the national league by gauging his players as they have been out of action for close to three months.
Meanwhile, men's league champions General Service Unit (GSU) won their last group match by straight-sets against KUIT in a 3-0 (26-24, 25-17 25-16) outcome and head to the quarters top of their group.
Additionally, the other Kenyan team, Kenya Forest Service (KFS) survived their biggest challenge in the group stage against Arusha Champions winning 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-21).
