Even without injured Jayson Tatum, the Celtics managed to bounce back and reduce the gap to 3-2. The end of the road for the GSW
The Boston Celtics won’t fall that easily - even without their best player. When news broke that Jayson Tatum had torn his Achilles tendon, many believed it spelled the end of the reigning champion’s season. But champions don’t give up that easily.
The New York Knicks won the first two games of the series in Boston, but they couldn’t make it three in a row. Derrick White and Jaylen Brown delivered their best performances of the series, leading the Celtics to a dominant 127-102 victory, cutting the series deficit to 3-2.

The Knicks were unrecognizable - lacking energy, effort, and answers. The Celtics' defense was stifling, their shooting flawless, and they pulled away with a game-high 23-point lead with seven minutes remaining, cruising to a convincing win. Jalen Brunson fouled out early in the fourth quarter, effectively ending the game for himself and the Knicks, who lost their star player when they needed him most.
Boston did their job and stayed alive in the series. Now, they’ll head to New York looking to force a decisive Game 7 on their home court.
The Knicks still hold the upper hand, with a chance to close out the series in Game 6, scheduled for the early hours of Saturday morning (3 a.m. CET).
Aside from the opening game, this Western Conference semifinal looked more like a light workout for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite finishing sixth in the regular season standings, the Wolves looked like the top seed as they dismantled the Los Angeles Lakers and now the Golden State Warriors.

Minnesota closed out the series 4-1, winning their fourth straight game with a 121-110 victory. They now advance to the Western Conference Finals, where they’ll face either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the Denver Nuggets.
The Warriors stood little chance without Stephen Curry, who was injured during Game 1 and missed the remainder of the series. Minnesota’s trio - Julius Randle, Anthony Edwards, and Rudy Gobert - proved too much for Golden State to handle.
