This year's competition was won by home side Al Ahly Sporting Club
Simion 'Kosirai' Kipkorir was, for the second year in a row, named in Africa's best team as curtains came down on this year's CAVB men's club championships held in Cairo, Egypt.
Kosirai, a former General Service Unit (GSU) skipper who turns out for Mouloudia Sportive de Bou Salem of Tunisia led the same side to gold last year, becoming the first Kenyan to lift the African title and be named best blocker.
Congratulations to Peter Kibata of Prisons Kenya for shining as the Best Libero at the 2024 CAVB Africa Men's Club Championships. Your exceptional performance has rightfully earned you a spot in the Dream Team. Well done, Peter pic.twitter.com/49R9Heozyq

This year, however, the Tunisians were overpowered by fellow North Africans, Al Ahly Sporting Club of Egypt who lifted the title on home soil but that did not stop the multiple Kenyan champion with GSU from being named best opposite player of the tournament.
The other Kenyan to make team of the tournament, Peter Kibata, shares a similar story to Kosirai's in being named best libero in the continent for the second time.
Kibata was instrumental for Prisons Kenya who settled for bronze, a place below the liber's squad of 2011 that won silver as he was named the best in the position for the first time. At the time, coach Mokua was part of the playing unit.
The Denis Mokua-led warders had dispatched compatriots Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) 3-1 in the quarters but failed against the defending champions, Mouloudia, in the semis, going down by straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-22) against Kosirai's side.
In the bronze medal match, Mokua's charges came from a set down to dispatch Al Naser of Libya 3-2 (23-25, 25-19, 25-17, 18-25, 15-13), saving Kenya's blushes as the other two sides KPA and Equity Bank finished seventh and 11th respectively.
