The Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has received the much awaited Cricket Normalization Committee report following the successful national elections held at MISC Kasarani in Nairobi last month.
She committed to work with new Cricket Kenya office after receiving the committee report that was handed over to her at Kasarani on Wednesday.

Mohamed indicated that short term goals for the federation will be to come up with a competent national team that will ply trade for the country at international events.
She also wants suggestions from stakeholders which could not be covered under the scope of the work of the Normalization Committee to be addressed as soon as possible.
Amina recalled consultations with the International Cricket Council (ICC) that led to the establishment of the Committee that was tasked with the responsibility of charting a way of bringing back normalcy to the game in the country with the following Terms of Reference.
"I wish to recognize the good work done by the Committee to achieve each of the activities in the Terms of References as captured in the report. "Additionally, I thank the Independent Elections Panel out in place by the Committee for the professional and meticulous work done,"she said
The committee that was formed on March 16 last year was tasked with coordinating the finalization of the Draft Constitution and ensure its validation in line with the requirements of the Sports Act 2013 and the ICC Statutes.
It was also to ensure smooth running of Cricket Kenya’s operations including team preparations for local and international events.
Others includes the coordination and facilitation of the compliance of Cricket Kenya to the ICC Statutes, facilitate the elections of new officials as per the validated Constitution as well as recommending to the CS long lasting solutions to the governance problems facing Cricket Kenya.
Mohamed further indicated the Ministry’s support throughout the journey in facilitating the entire work of the Committee and the national teams in their participation in international assignments.
"I also want to recognize ICC entire Board’s support led by Board member Dr. Tavengwa Mukuhlani, CEO Geoff Allardice, Patricia Kambarami and others for giving this process a chance, advising the Committee on ICC Statutes and global developments of the sports, attending stakeholder forums including observing the elections and together with the Government facilitating the activities of the Committee,"she shared.
While congratulating the newly elected officials led by new chairman Manoj Patel, she challenged the new Board to reach out and carry every stakeholder along, position the players at the centre of all Cricket Kenya activities.
"I want to direct the Board to as soon as possible implement the Cricket Kenya Constitution especially on provisions touching on establishment of Committees, gender balance and appointment of management to make the Cricket Kenya fully functional," she said.
Further, she urged the Board to work with the 23 County Cricket Associations to nurture the sport in the Counties.
"I call on all stakeholders to support the newly elected Board for it to achieve its mandate and urge them to embrace dispute resolution mechanisms as captured in the Cricket Kenya Constitution and avoid protracted disputes that may hinder the growth of the sport.
"Never again should Cricket be allowed to go this route that has made many young Kenyans lose their livelihoods and the country’s Cricket world ranking status to drop drastically because of individual, selfish interests which can be set aside for the sake of the sport," she concluded.
