23 KHU leagues matches lined up for weekend action

The Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) leagues continue this weekend with an action-packed lineup of 23 matches spread across various venues in the country, as the battle intensifies across the Premier, Super, and National League divisions.

Saturday, 1 November promises a thrilling start with ten matches scheduled across multiple grounds. In the Women’s Super League (SLW), Daystar University Ladies host NCBA Wazalendo Pearls at Daystar Uni–Athi River from 11:00 AM, while Lakers ‘B’ will face MMU Ladies at Kisumu Simba from noon.

In the Men’s National League Central Zone (NLM–CZ), JKUAT Men welcome Egerton University Sharks at the JKUAT Grounds in an early afternoon clash, while the Men’s National League Eastern Zone (NLM–EZ) features Daystar Uni Men taking on Wazalendo Youth at Athi River.

The Western Zone tie between Western Jaguars Dev and GHF Blue Pirates at Musungu High School has been postponed to a later date.

Premier League action will be highlighted by two fixtures - KU Ladies take on Sliders at JKUAT Grounds at 1:00 PM before Amira Sailors face Twinkle at Impala Club at 2:00 PM.

In the men’s Super League, KU Men take on Parkroad Badgers at KU Grounds, while Wazalendo Masters will battle Sailors at Highway Secondary School - both matches kicking off at 3:00 PM.

Parklands Sports Club will host a Men’s National League Eastern Zone encounter pitting Parklands SC-Legacy against Mombasa West at 3:00 PM to wrap up Saturday’s fixtures.

Sunday, 2 November, brings even more excitement with 13 fixtures lined up across the regions. The day begins early at Migori Teachers Training College, where Gorillas Ladies will host MMU Ladies in a Women’s Super League match starting at 9:00 AM.

At 10:00 AM, Daystar Uni Men return to action against Mombasa West in another NLM–EZ tie at Athi River. Several National League matches are slated for noon, including Thika Rovers vs JKUAT Men (Thika HS), Oyugis Hockey Club vs Kisii University (Oyugis), Masai Mara vs GHF Rift Pirates Men (Maasai Girls HS), and Kirinyaga Knights vs Egerton University Sharks (Ngiriambu HS).

In the Premier League Women’s category, Twinkle will host KU Ladies at Jamhuri High School at noon.

Later in the afternoon, Parkroad Tigers will take on Wazalendo Masters in a Men’s Super League duel at JKUAT Grounds, while TUK will face UoN Men (Clubs) at Impala Club in a National League Eastern Zone fixture.

Sailors will then square off with UoN Men at 2:15 PM in a Men’s Super League tie at the same venue before the weekend’s action concludes at Parklands Sports Club, where KCA University will host Strathmore University Men in a Premier League Men’s showdown at 3:00 PM.
