
Kenya to take on Pakistan in World Junior Kabaddi Championships quarter finals

The Junior Kabaddi team finished second in the first edition in 2019
The Kenya national kabaddi junior team will this evening take on Pakistan in the World Junior Kabaddi championships quarter finals in Urmia, Iran after securing their maiden group win in the second edition of the championships.
Kenya initially suffered an opening day loss to Iraq, going down 56-39 before blowing out Palestine 75-14 in Wednesday’s second and final Group B meeting.
Kenya was pooled in Group B with Iraq and Palestine and will now take on unbeaten Pakistan who have won their last two matches.
Pakistan beat Nepal 61-41 on Tuesday before wrapping up their group A triumph with a 73-30 victory over Georgia.
Kenya will be looking to go a step further in the tournament that they last finished second in 2019.

Kenya lost 42-22 to the then undefeated Iran in the inaugural tournament finals.
East African neighbors Uganda were on the other hand knocked out of the championships after failing to register a single win - falling 42-40 to Chinese Taipei and getting whitewashed 67-27 by Iran.
The winners from the quarter finals will proceed to the semifinals slated for Friday March 3 before paving way for the finals on Saturday.
