The tournament, organised annually in honour of members of the basketball fraternity who lost their lives during the 1994 Genocide, will feature 12 top teams drawn from Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
KPA, alongside Dar City from Tanzania, and Uganda's JKL Lady Dolphins are the foreign teams invited to the competition. KPA men are likely to travel on Tuesday, 22 April.
KPA women's head coach Anthony Ojukwu, while speaking to the club's media, says that the team is ready and eager to represent their country.
"This tournament is particularly important as the team aims to reclaim both the national league and the regional titles they lost to Equity Bank Hawks and Al Ahly Sporting Club of Egypt, respectively," he added.
KPA have had a successful first leg of the league season, and are currently top of the league standings on 23 points from 12 wins in 13 matches.
The Dockers were in action in the league a weekend ago, in the opening round of the second leg, where they faced off with Stanbic Aces for an 88 - 46 victory at Makande Gymnasium in Mombasa.
Ojukwu's charges are tied on points with the 2015 winners, United States International University of Africa (USIU-A) Flames, both on similar wins with one loss each.
Strathmore Swords, holders Hawks and Zetech University Sparks are third, fourth and fifth with 19 points after 11 rounds of action.
They have all played 11 matches, won eight and lost three. Stanbic Aces are sixth with 18 points from 12 outings, whereas winless African Nazarene University (ANU) Panthers and Storms lead from the bottom
