Trinity went into the match on the back of an impressive start to the season, having secured two wins and a draw in their opening three matches.

Kisped, on the other hand, posted a poor start to the season, which saw them lose all their first three league matches.

From the first whistle, Trinity were well aware that a win would take them to the top of the league table, at least before Vihiga Queens and Kenya Police Bullets take to the pitch on Sunday, 9 November.

It is for that reason that the home side began the match on the front foot, dominating play and creating half-chances, but could not convert any of them to goals early on.

However, Trinity showed more urgency as the game progressed past the 20-minute mark and finally got their reward in the 27th minute.

Splender Mmbohi found the back of the net from a well-taken free kick to break the deadlock and give the hosts the lead.

Kisped seemed to have been deflated by the goal and conceded again just a minute later through Eglay Mukwana, who doubled Trinity's lead before Kisped pulled one back in the 41st minute for a 2-1 scoreline at the break.

The second half started at a slow pace, neither of the teams showing signs of scoring, with the battle taking place in midfield.

However, Trinity brought spark to the game as Mercyline Mejor stepped up to add her name on the scoresheet in the 61st minute from a Mmbohi assist.

Second-half substitute Beril Kitungulu added a fourth for Trinity in the 74th minute before a lapse in concentration allowed Kisped to add their second of the day four minutes later.

Gideon Starlets 1-3 Zetech Sparks

In the other match of the day, varsity side Zetech Sparks secured a 3-1 victory over Gideon Starlets in a match played at the Raila Odinga Stadium, Homabay (ROSH), with Violet Akinyi scoring a hat-trick.
