Chelsea are reportedly closing in on the former PSG coach.
Victor Wanyama feels his former club Tottenham should table an offer for former manager Mauricio Pochettino, who is reportedly close to taking over at London rivals Chelsea.
The two London sides are currently without managers. Spurs parted ways with head coach Antonio Conte in March after an unusual rant about his players after drawing Southampton at home in March, while Chelsea sacked Graham Potter after a torrid run under the Englishman.
Both clubs handed their former players an interim coaching role until the end of the season as they engage potential permanent coaches in talks. Spurs are under Ryan Mason, while Frank Lampard continues to oversee Chelsea’s horrendous run.
Poch, who signed Wanyama for both Southampton and Tottenham, is reportedly close to signing for Chelsea, but Wanyama who worked with the tactician at Tottenham feels that the north London club should table an offer for his services as he believes he would immediately reject a move to Chelsea in favour of a Spurs return.
"I get how the fans feel," Wanyama told LondonWorld.
"Poch should be the manager of Tottenham next season, not Chelsea," he added. "I can understand the frustration within the fanbase because they know Pochettino gave everything, and I believe if there are two offers on the table between Chelsea and Tottenham, then the Pochettino I know will choose Tottenham.".

The CF Montreal man, however, added that he wants the tactician to settle for a club that would work out for him.
"All I want is for Poch to be happy and to get back to doing what he loves the most and what makes him happy, so if he’s happy, then I’m happy," he added.
He finished by praising the Argentine for playing a father-figure role in his life.
"He will always be a mentor to me and a father figure to me; he showed me the game and improved my game massively."
Poch coached the Spurs between 2014 and 2019 when he got the sack. He guided the team to the UEFA Champions League final in 2018 before losing to Liverpool.
