The winger was singed from Kariobangi Sharks in the off season transfer window.

Having played for Gor Mahia at the right wing-back position during pre-season, Gor Mahia winger Enock Wanyama is enjoying his versatility at the club.

The pacey winger joined the club in the off-season transfer window from Kariobangi Sharks where he endured limited playing time under head coach William Muluya.

Wanyama is having no reservations about being utilized as a wingback as he did so during the 3-1 loss to Nairobi City Stars back in early November.

“I’m a natural left winger but I have to adapt to different positions. Playing at right-back is not a permanent thing, I’m just looking for different ways I can help the team and get more minutes.

When I can play in different positions it gives me an advantage because I can get more minutes, now I can play as a left winger, right winger, or full-back,” said Wanyama.

The FK Pohronie trialist is yet to feature for Gor Mahia in the league with the club currently serving a transfer embargo from FIFA after failing to settle the dues of some former players.

The former Ligi Ndogo star noted that playing in a number of positions improves his chances of playing and also opened up about what it is to play in a new position.

“Playing as a wingback is fine by me as long as it helps the team and it is still an offensive position, the defending part is a bit tricky but I will look to improve on that.

As long as there is a free position there (wingback) and I can express myself then I cannot complain about playing in an unfamiliar territory,” added Wanyama.
