The attacker is currently a free agent after leaving Sharks.

Despite missing out on the chance to join Tanzanian Premier League side Coastal Union and a unnamed Egyptian side, former Kariobangi Sharks attacking midfielder Enock Wanyama hasn't lost hope of turning professional or signing with a local club.

The versatile midfielder is currently a free agent after cutting ties with Kariobangi Sharks who are on a rebuilding phase after parting company with more than ten players.

Wanyama, was heavily linked with a move to Tanzania or Egypt but the deals hit a snag leaving him to try his luck with local clubs who are active in the market as the league is set to kick off later in the month.

Coastal Union, one of the most successful clubs in Tanzania were also, reportedly eyeing former Kenya Police winger Samuel Ndung'u who has since joined Bidco United.

Wanyama who tried with Union who are currently holed in Zanzibar for their pre-season says the club deemed him unfit owing to lack of playing time during his stay at Sharks.

"Coastal Union wanted to sign me but they were not impressed with the number of minutes I amassed last season. There were interests from Egypt but the deal did not go through," he disclosed.

The former national U20 winger who tried out with KCB after failing to make the cut in Tanzania believes that all is not lost and will get lucrative deals before the season gets underway.

KCB, have already acquired the quartet of Francis Kahiro, Bryne Omondi, Harun Mwale and Danson Chetambe. At the same time, the club has let go more than five players.

" I still have hopes that I will play either in the local league or abroad in the new season. I am currently training on my own with my agent on the other hand working hard to nail down deals for me," he said.
