Ulinzi Starlets gunned down FKF Women Premier League (WPL) defending champions Kenya Police Bullets 1-0 to end their unbeaten run in 2025-2026 season.

The two sides met on Sunday, 7 December at the Police Sacco Stadium, with the visitors labouring hard to secure all three points.

Going into the match, Police were enjoying a 100% record in the league, having won all of their first five matches.

The Law Enforcers were on top the league table until Saturday, 6 December when they were dislodged by Trinity Starlets.

Police can still reclaim the top spot if they win their two matches in hand.

Ulinzi, on the other hand, were sixth on the log with 11 points-and on the back of a 3-2 loss to Kayole Starlets.

From the onset, Ulinzi were out on attack, with Mercy Airo setting up her teammates as she dominated the early minutes of their midfield battle with Diana Wacera.

There was not much to write home about the opening minutes of the game save for Police captain Diana Anyango's booking inside the first five minutes.

The Law Enforcers got their first chance in the 12th minute when Margaret Kunihira took a shot that was parried away for a corner by Velmar Auma in the Ulinzi goal.

The pace of the match slowed down by the 20th minute mark, as the rest of the half saw no meaningful attack until the 45th minute when Emily Moranga thought she had given Police the lead but her header was cleared off the line by the Ulinzi defense.

In the second half, Police got the first big chance in the 55th minute when Rebecca Okwaro who was introduced at half time was set through on goal, beat Auma with a cheeky loop but it flew over the bar.

The biggest moment of the match came in the 83rd minute when Siliya Rasoha connected well from a cut back in the box- and placed the ball past Harambee Starlets custodian Annedy Kundu.

The military side held on to their lead in the remaining minutes to hand coach David Vijago his first loss at Police.

With the win, Ulinzi are now fourth on the log with 14 points, a point and a place below Police.

Elsewhere AFC Leopardess won the inaugural Mashemeji Derby Women edition by beating Gor Mahia Queens 1-0 to grab the bragging rights in a FKF Women National Super League (WNSL) match played earlier today at the Ruaraka Grounds.

The historical match was initially set to be hosted at Nyayo but was shifted to Ruaraka at the last minute as the military were still practicing at the facility.
