Belgian striker started in six consecutive games and scored five goals
In Serie A problems, in Europe – perfect. That’s how Jose Mourinho’s Roma plays in the current season. The Gialorossi finally won in Italy last week (at home to poor Frosinone), and in this game, they were absolute favourites for the win. Unlike in some other games, they managed a clean, well-deserved and easy victory without stress in front of the home crowd: Roma – Servette 4-0. Andrea Belotti scored a brace, and captain Pellegrini added one, but the player who ‘opened’ the guests and continued his excellent form was Romelu Lukaku.

Mourinho had problems with injuries (Chris Smalling, Diego Llorente, Marash Kumbulla, Renato Sanches and Tammy Abraham) and also wanted to rest some players (like Dybala), but there was no break for the in-form Belgian. Lukaku started his six consecutive games so far and is surely to start on Sunday against Cagliari, his former team. The on-loan Chelsea striker scored his fifth goal tonight, as he already did against Empoli, Sheriff, Torino and Frosinone. He broke the deadlock in the 21st minute and used Zeki Celik's cross (with help from a deflection) to score. Roma never gave the weak visitors a chance to get back in the game, and Andrea Belotti scored the second goal as soon as the second half started. Captain Pellegrini added another one six minutes later before he got injured and left the game, and then Belotti finished off in style for the final 4-0. With a series of games with weaker opponents (Frosinone and Servette, Cagliari and Monza to come), Roma is in an ideal position to get back on track and move up the table, as the Champions League spot is their target for this season.
