Tusker, Ulinzi interested in Nzoia Sugar goal poacher

Former champions Tusker and Ulinzi Stars have expressed their interest in acquiring Nzoia Sugar forward Hillary Simiyu in the forthcoming transfer window.

Simiyu has taken the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) by storm since joining The Sugar Millers in February from Division One, Zone B side Bungoma Superstars.

The forward who has four goals against his name exclusively revealed that the log leaders had approached him with an intention of bringing him to Ruaraka while The Soldiers are determined to get him their ranks.

Simiyu who arrived at the club alongside Kevin Wafula has so far found the back of their net against Tusker, KCB, Mathare United with his sole strike against Bidco United on Thursday sending them back to winning ways after eight matches.

"The two clubs have contacted me but are yet to table any offer. Getting offers does not come as a shock for I have been working hard and will continue to work to improve on my weak areas. I have a three-year contract with Nzoia and will only leave if the clubs agree to let me go, "he disclosed.

The two teams have from time to time signed players from Nzoia with Tusker luring the trio of Gabriel Wandera, Luke Namanda, Vincent Ngesa and Hillary Wandera in recent years. The Brewers who have since parted ways with Gabriel are also said to be interested in Kevin Juma.Ulinzi acquired Masita Masuta from The Sugar Men.

Simiyu in the meantime has labelled life in front of the goal in the top flight simpler as opposed to that the Division One.

"The division one league is way tougher than the FKFPL. The power play in the third division calls one to be physically fit throughout unlike here where it's a little bit technical and tactical," he observed.
