Former Gor head coach will be on the touchline for first time in almost three months after getting his work permit

Just three days after upstaging South African giants Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 in the South African DSTV Premier League, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC (TTM) received morale boosting news ahead of their Nedbank Cup final against Chippa United on Saturday.

Former Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr finally received his work permit and will sit on their bench for that game, for the first time in three months since being appointed. Kerr has had to watch his side’s performances from the stands for almost three months due to work permit issues. With the documentation sorted, he is now confident his side can pull a victory at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.

“It is a cup final, so league form goes out of the window. The players are excited and want to impress. This week we have had training sessions with no injuries, which is almost unheard of. It is an important game for the club and players. It could be the one and only chance for these players to reach a cup final,” the head coach is quoted as saying on the Witness.

Kerr called on his troops to replicate the kind of performance that saw them edge Chiefs and jump out of the relegation places if they are to achieve the victorious feat.

“I have been preaching to the players that they must play like that in every game. It does not always work but the added pressure of them wanting to be selected in tomorrow’s final gave us a very good showing. I want that performance replicated, but even better on Saturday. You do not have to motivate anybody for a final,” he stated.
