
Trinity Starlets blow chance to go top as Gideon secure crucial win

In the other match of the day, league newbies Gideon Starlets earned their second win of the season, edging Kibera Soccer Women 2-1
Trinity Starlets failed to ascend to the summit of the Women's Premier League (WPL) table after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Zetech Sparks in a match played at the Zetech University, Mang’u campus.

Trinity went into the match with 13 points, two shy of league leaders Kenya Police Bullets FC and were in pole position to go top, while Zetech, on the other hand, were sixth on the log.
The Gilgil-based side started the match on a high and took the lead in the seventh minute through Shalen Njeri to temporarily take the visitors to the top of the table in the first half.
In the second half, Zetech came out a more rejuvenated side and got their reward in the 56th minute when they drew level through the penalty spot, a result that remained so until the final whistle.
Bungoma Queens 2-1 Kisumu All Starlets
At the Moi Stadium, Kisumu, Bungoma Queens proved too much for Kisumu All Starlets, managing to secure a 2-1 away victory.
Ruth Chebungei gave the visitors a first-half lead before Becky Nyongesa doubled their advantage in the 68th minute. All Starlets managed to get a consolation in the dying minutes of the match, condemning them to yet another loss.
With the win, Bungoma leapfrogged Madira Soccer Assassins to move to seventh on the log while All Starlets remain rooted at the bottom with a single point after seven matches.
Gideon Starlets 2-1 Kibera Soccer Women
In the other match of the day, league newbies Gideon Starlets earned their second win of the season, edging Kibera Soccer Women 2-1 in a match played at the Raila Odinga Stadium, Homa Bay.
The match, which was characterised by early goals, saw Gideon take a sixth-minute lead through Vivian before Faith Mboya equalised for Kibera Soccer a minute later.
Gideon pressed hard and reclaimed their lead in the 21st minute courtesy of Cynthia Adhiambo.
The two teams continued to press for goals in the match, but none were forthcoming until the final whistle was blown.
With the win, Gideon moved out of the relegation zone to ninth on the log with six points to their name.
