The former Manchester City centre-back has had a shocking morning after returning from his team's Liga Portugal match with Farmalicao.
The news were broken by Portuguese daily Correio de Manha on Monday.
When the 33-year-old footballer entered his house, four attackers were waiting for him, wrestled him down and tied him with his young family stricken by fear.
There's been a few similar cases around Europe recently, with Angel Di Maria's house was robbed, Ander Herrera has had an unpleasant meeting with a prostitute and Ansu Fati had many valuable items stolen from his house last month.
