Arsenal's boss kept a perfect October, yet United's rebirth under the Portuguese convinced the voters more for the Manager of the Month award

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal fans will feel hard done by. The Spaniard guided the Gunners to a flawless October - three games, three wins, zero goals conceded - but still walked away empty-handed.

The Premier League's Manager of the Month award has instead gone to Manchester United's Ruben Amorim, whose revival at Old Trafford has clearly impressed the voters more than Arsenal's near-perfection.

Both managers led their teams to three wins from three, but the panel and the supporters' vote leaned toward Amorim, rewarding the Portuguese for pulling United out of crisis mode. His side defeated Liverpool (2-1), Brighton (4-2) and Sunderland (2-0), restoring confidence and spirit at the Theatre of Dreams.

Arteta, meanwhile, oversaw Arsenal victories against West Ham (2-0), Fulham (1-0) and Crystal Palace (1-0). It was a stretch of pure control - the Gunners allowed just one shot on target across the entire month, and that came from former Arsenal man Eddie Nketiah.

Aston Villa's Unai Emery and Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola were the other nominees, but Amorim claimed his first-ever award, while Arteta remains stuck on five.

Perfect record, defensive steel, total dominance - yet no trophy this time. Sometimes, even perfection isn't enough.
