The Reds come from behind to top Brighton in a three-minute-long blitzkrieg (2-1)

While Arsenal and Manchester City recreated that old Spiderman meme on Saturday, by losing their respective Premier League games, Liverpool managed to make a late U-turn and come from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 at Anfield.

This victory puts the Reds at the EPL summit, and proves that Arne Slot's team has got a necessary mental stability that could prove crucial in their title quest.

However, it was a difficult start for the Scousers against the Seagulls, with Ferdi Kadioglu's fine strike ending in the back of the net in the first half for a disturbing 1-0 lead.

But Cody Gakpo's second-half left-wing cross went straight into the net for Liverpool's equaliser in the 69th minute. Just three minutes later, Mohamed Salah launched a breathtaking curler into the far corner to completely turn the game around.

This win was especially impressive due to the fact that Brighton had been playing so well and outplayed the home side in some parts of the game.

Liverpool, who have won 13 of their 15 games under new manager Arne Slot, are two points above Manchester City.
