The new Forest keeper: Hudson-Odoi's thunderbolt saves Nottingham

Reading Time: 3min | Mon. 18.09.23. | 23:50

Former Chelsea winger scored an equalizer for the host in a game which finished 1-1

In the last game of the Round 5 of the Premier League, Nottingham Forest and Burnley managed their first draw of the season. After a win over Chelsea just before the international break, this is surely a letdown for the home team, but the visitors also feel bad, since they failed to record their first win in the campaign, even thou they took the lead twice: Nottingham – Burnley 1-1. The Clarets are still winless, but with a game in hand, and boss Vincent Company will probably feel they should have won this one. Forest controled the game, had the initiative for most of the match, but they were beatable, and Barnley didn‘t used that.

Coach Cooper introduced his new signings Ibrahim Sangare from PSV and Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea, and they both played a great game, especially the Englishman, who scored an euro-goal and saved his new team from defeat. Forest just couldn‘t materialize their initiative into goals, while Burnley were the second best team, but still managed to take an early lead and even scored for the victory, only to see their goal nullified by VAR due to handball.

After the opening initiative which lasted for 20 minutes, it looked like Forest is about to score any minute, but out of nowhere, the guests took the lead via Amdouni, the same guy whose goal in the Carabao Cup give Burnley the victory against Forest weeks ago. He struck one from 20 meters and suddenly, the hosts were behind. They were the second best team in the second half as well, until Chelsea winger scored a fantastic goal from over 20 meters under the bar, after a pass from Awoniyi, who had a quiet night, but still produced an assist. Burnley had a chance for the victory in the 78th minute, when Foster scored a potential game winner, but VAR showed he handballed just before he took a shot, and the goal was denied. Until the end, both teams tried to earn three points, but there were no real chances and the score remained the same.
