The Gunners can do lots of things, but they can't seem to get a win at Goodison Park

Arteta wants Rice to show his class against the Toffees

Arsenal's recent record at Goodison Park is indeed surprising, with no wins in their past five visits to Everton's home ground. The Gunners' last victory there was in 2017, and even prior to that win, they had struggled to secure points at Goodison Park. Can they finally end the annoying run?

As a manager, Mikel Arteta has also found it challenging at Goodison Park, losing all three of his games there as Arsenal boss. Last season, their defeat at Everton derailed their title bid and started a winless run in the Premier League.

However, adding Declan Rice to Arsenal's squad has brought physicality and leadership to the team. Rice's late goal against Manchester United before the international break showcased his value to the Gunners. He brings the physical qualities Arsenal has been missing, which Arteta acknowledged when they signed him for $130 million. Rice's presence in the squad adds substance to Arsenal's style of play and makes them more competitive in challenging away fixtures like the one at Goodison Park. Arteta has described him as a "lighthouse," and the England international is quickly becoming a popular figure among the squad.

As Arsenal prepares for Champions League fixtures this month, having a player of Rice's calibre can be crucial in maintaining their good start to the season. However, they still have to navigate their way around Goodison Park first.

Sean Dyche is facing a challenging period, but he remains optimistic about the prospects for his team, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Michael Keane, Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison ready for selection. Despite recent discouraging results, Dyche knows that form can quickly change. Last season, their 1-0 home win against Arsenal was a turning point, ending a seven-game winless streak in the league. It was Dyche's first game in charge. Getting another one over Arteta would ease the nerves in the blue half of Liverpool in the week American fund 777 Partners took control of the club.

Arsenal will be relieved that all 16 of their players away on international duty have returned without any injuries. However, they will continue to be without Thomas Partey, who is sidelined due to an ongoing groin injury.
