Less than a year and a half since he became the famous company's Head of Global Football, the German could give up on the project and possibly return to the coaching job

The excitement around Red Bull reached its peak when Jurgen Klopp agreed to become their Head of Global Football. The German has been a renowned coaching name, and the expectations were as high as possible. However, less than a year and a half later, he is allegedly on his way out.

Information about Klopp's imminent departure appeared a couple of days ago but was immediately denied by Oliver Mintzlaff, the CEO of Corporate Projects and New Investments at Red Bull. Nevertheless, the renowned French newspaper L'Equipe launched the same news, as the rumours are becoming louder and harder to silence.

Reportedly, neither side is currently satisfied with the cooperation.

On the one hand, Red Bull expected much better results under Klopp. RB Leipzig are far from the title race in the Bundesliga, sitting in fifth place, 19 points behind the leaders Bayern Munich, who also knocked them out in the quarter-finals of the German Cup (DFB Pokal).

RB Salzburg top the Austrian Bundesliga table but aren't particularly convincing, while their participation in the UEFA Europa League ended as early as the league phase.

In addition, Red Bull took issue with Klopp imposing Ole Werner as the new Leipzig coach as well as his non-interference when it comes to the new Paris FC (whose minority owner the company is) boss. He reportedly failed to exploit his connections to persuade Marco Rose or Adi Hutter to take over the French side, allowing the appointment of Antoine Kombouare.

On the other hand, Klopp allegedly isn't pleased with his role either, keen to return to the managerial job, while the current Crystal Palace boss, Oliver Glasner (who has already announced his departure from Selhurst Park), is the primary candidate to succeed him.

Rumour has it that Real Madrid are looking forward to Klopp's return to coaching, but time will tell whether the 58-year-old tactician is interested in taking on such a colossal challenge.
