Ten Hag praises Bruno, Keane: ’It’s all rubbish’

Former Manchester captain was critical of coach Erik ten Hag
Manchester United coach and players are happy with their third win in a row and want to keep the momentum ahead of the crucial Champions League game with Galatasaray in Istanbul. So, they want to look only on the bright side, and concentrate on the good stuff. United continued it’s winning streak, they recorded an away win (fourth of the season), and they scored three goals in a game, for the first time since September in the Premier League. Above all, Marcus Rashford scored his only second goal of the season.
Captain Bruno Fernandes is the penalty taker but he choose to give him the ball, stating that he felt that Marcus ‘needed a bit of confidence, needed goals’. And coach Ten Hag was quick to praise his captain.
“You see how great a captain Bruno is to sense that his team-mate needed that goal. Bruno will net definitely, but he has the confidence in Rashy who is a very good penalty taker. Take that ball and take your confidence. As a team you need that leadership. You back each other, you cover each other and you give each other confidence because you need it to get a successful season” said the Dutchman.
On the other side is ‘old school’, fans who go way back into Sir Alex Ferguson years and who are looking shocked by the state of the club. And their spokesman is surely Roy Keane. Famous no-nonsense captain is now a TV pundit and has to watch United struggle every week. Keane knows that the Red Devils were not good against Everton but won the game anyway, and he felt that all this ‘side talk’ about who will take the penalty is totally off the topic, so he criticized Ten Hag.

“He's giving toffee out there to Bruno for passing on the ball for the penalty. Absolute bloody rubbish. Absolute rubbish coming out with that. Manchester United are sixth now – if you went back a few years, if you were sixth you'd be embarrassed. But obviously they seem happy with sixth. They have a long way to go. Manchester United have to be competing with the best teams. That's including Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal. It's not been good enough with the talent they've got. Look, they've got themselves in a nice position but the reason you're playing for Manchester United is to compete against the top teams” said Keane.
