The Super Eagles goalkeeper says winning the 2023 AFCON trophy was his top priority.
Stanley Nwabali cut a disappointed figure after the Super Eagles of Nigeria lost to Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final played in Northern Abidjan on Sunday evening.
This is despite having a fairly good outing on his debut AFCON.

He opines that the showers of praises would have only mattered if Nigeria won the tournament.
"It really doesn't appeal to me. I think all that would have mattered if we actually won the tournament. I would have felt that my performance actually played a role in our victory. For now I am just disappointed with the loss." He said.
South Africa's Ronwen Williams won the AFCON 2023 Golden Boot and Nwabali believes he deserved it.
"He is such a good goalkeeper and I have learned. thing or two from him. He deserves the accolade because of his performance at such a high level." He said.
With his performance at the AFCON, Nwabali has surely won the Super Eagles number 1 shirt. His focus now shifts to club football with Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Chippa United.
